Scenario: How To Make Apple Pie
Week 4

Created scenario Overview: How To Make Apple Pie
In this Constructivist interactive online scenario with Freelancing in mind, learners from different backgrounds and baking levels will learn to make apple pie with a nice pie crust decoration. This lesson is open to advanced beginners; proficient and experts can join the fun!

Learners will join one of the three live sessions where they will be able to answer surveys, contribute to the making of multiple choice questions, and cooperative gamified e-learning experiences to show off their baking knowledge as a team. Each live session will be catered to each of the levels. The baker will have a three day session, one day for each level of expertise.

Learners will have the opportunity to ask and answer questions from each other or the main baker when necessary to facilitate and guide the new learning while learners work on their pies at home.

There are three different styles of top crust to choose from. Each style will be a session (individual day).

-
Close with whole in the middle crust (Advance Beginner Day 1)
-
Thin Lattice crust with a braided edge (Proficient Day 2)
-
Autumn leaves crust (Expert Day 3)
Identify ZPD Skills
Our learners' ZPD skills, social interactions with their peers, or the Main Baker's faded support will provide much-needed scaffolds depending on baking level or expertise.

1. Making the dough: Beginners may need support (scaffolds) in 2 or 3 of these steps as they navigate how to prepare the dough from scratch. Proficient-level bakers may only need support (scaffolds) in 1 of these steps. Expert-level bakers will not need any support or scaffolds in this step.

2. Making the filling: Beginners may need support (scaffolds) in 1
of the steps or when adding the secret ingredient to their killer apple
filling. Proficient and Expert level bakers will not need support
(scaffolds) on this step.

3. Crust Decorations: Beginners and Proficient bakers may need several to a few scaffolds or a step-by-step as to how to roll cut the whole or with the measurements for their decorations. Expert level
bakers might need faded support or simple tips throughout this
process.

4. Baking temperature and time: Beginners and Proficient
bakers may only need support (scaffolds) in 1 of these steps, like
adjusting the temperature, how to cover the edges appropriately, or
when to remove their pies from the oven. Expert-level bakers will
not need support (scaffolds) on this step.

Scaffolding and Social Constructivism Strategies
Scaffolding strategy: Dividing this lesson by levels of baking expertise and days (split into three days).

Social Constructivist Approaches: Each lesson will use one or more approaches, depending on the learner's ZPD and baking-level skill.
For example
-Reciprocal and Cooperative learning: Each day, each group will support each other by answering each other's questions or providing insightful tips to each other, providing the leading baker with the ability to provide scaffolds or faded supports when needed.

-Situated Learning: Each session will provide opportunities for the learner to construct meaningful and strategic contexts through active participation and this real-life scenario, such as making, designing, and baking their own apple pie with the help of a motivated community that loves to bake as much as they do.
-Anchored Instruction: Bakers of all levels will join a motivated community of people who want to improve their baking skills or learn something new using technology-based learning, with the addition of a live session for a more interactive and rich social experience.

Differentiation: The lead baker and the learners use technology to provide several opportunities to differentiate the bakers' (learners') learning.
For example
-Surveys

-Contribute to the making of multiple-choice questions

-Participating in e-learning team games (gamification of
knowledge (for additional practice)
